Principal Dave Williams and Chief Instructor Jono Garton have worked together for 18 years in the RYA Training sector, their easy-going but professional approach to delivering training as seen them respected as two of the best instructors in the industry. With experience which ranges from Windsurfing to time served with the RNLI they have a wealth of experience that provides the skills to teach to the highest standard. Waterwise was borne from a passion to deliver first class training to a broad spectrum of clients.
Originally based on the Menai Straits the decision was made in 2018 to relocate the training centre to Madog Boat Yard, in Porthmadog.
In 2021 we added 3 new Sea Doo Sparks to our fleet along with a drive on Aqua Dock for running PWC Jet Ski Courses.
All our fleet are sub 2 years old.
The facility at Madog Boat Yard is second to none. The classroom is central heated, with views across the estuary, and there are showers for PWC courses and a kitchen for breaktime. Outside in the yard is an 8-tonne static crane, slipway, private pontoons and workshop. The estuary acts as a lake and we can run courses in almost all conditions.
Porthmadog has a lit buoyed channel and good tidal flow for teaching in varied conditions.
Waterwise have long standing relationships with Seadoo and Honda, when purchasing a new Honda Outboard over 50hp you are entitled to a Level 2 Powerboat Course paid for by Honda.
Offsite we can offer own boat tuition, safety boats and rib Charter in our 6.4m Coded Highfield RIB.
In 2021 we opened our classroom and office in Llanbedr Airfield where our Marine Support Unit is based.
